In conjunction with AMC Spring Festival, join us for a relaxed recreational bike ride starting in downtown Westfield, and looping south and west thru Southwick and Granville. Total riding distance is 19 miles, all on paved roads. Terrain is relatively flat but there will be a few non-trivial hills to climb. We will travel at a relaxed pace of 11-13 mph average, take periodic breaks, and ensure that the group stays together and nobody gets dropped. Rain cancels. ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED (cost is free) - use 'ticket purchase' link. We will send detailed ride information, including where to rendezvous, to everyone who registers.
You must have a bicycle in good working order that is suitable for riding on paved roads, wear a properly-fitting bicycle helmet at all times while riding, carry an adequate supply of water, and have a spare tube that fits your tires. Plan and prepare to be out for approximately two hours.
Please review all our group riding policies which are posted online here: https://www.amc-wma.org/bicycling
After the ride, we encourage all participants to transfer to AMC's Noble View Outdoor Center for lunch and afternoon exhibits offered by volunteer trip leaders from AMC's Western MA chapter. Plus, explore the Noble View grounds and learn more about the many all-season activities you can enjoy at this beautiful outdoor recreation and lodging facility!
