    AARP MA Preparing for Your Next Bicycle Ride

    Join AARP Massachusetts and MassBike for this virtual workshop that’s intended for older adults who are interested in getting back on their bike, expanding their biking comfort level, and looking for a refresher on bike safety and rules of the road.

    Whether you’re looking to get back into recreational riding or to take the next step and use your bike for transportation, this workshop will review what you need to know and answer any questions you have about biking.

    Participants will learn:

    • Pre-ride Bicycle Maintenance
    • Planning for a ride
    • Safely getting on and off a bicycle
    • Refresher on Road Safety

    2021 Great River Ride

    Register today for the 2021 Great River Ride!

    Choose your route - with a variety of distances and terrains available, there’s something for everyone:

    • 110/80/62/35 mile rides
    • 200k Brevet
    • 65 mile Gravel
    • 30 mile Winery ride on rail trail network to East Granby, CT

    All routes will be clearly signed and include planned rest stops with light refreshments. The registration fee is $50/cyclist with all proceeds going to the Friends of the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail. 

    All rides begin and end at the Sons of Erin in Westfield and include a post-ride cool down celebration featuring the lively sounds of Ragged Blue and tasty treats available from Caravan Kitchen, the Saucy Mama and Hot Oven Cookies food trucks.

    5th Annual Kirwin/Murray Tour de Falmouth

    The 5th Annual Kirwin/Murray Tour de Falmouth is a charity bike ride benefitting the Falmouth Homeless Prevention Program, operated by the non-profit Falmouth Housing Corporation.  

    The ride is Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 8am and features two routes--just under 30 miles and 10 miles--that both begin and end at the Ellen T. Mitchell Bath House, 56 Surf Drive Falmouth, MA 02540.  

    Registration is available in advance through this platform and the day of the ride beginning at 7:30am.  Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and an invitation to an after party at Liam Maguire's Irish Pub (Downtown Falmouth) with light refreshment and a complimentary beer ticket.  All participants must wear helmets.

    On October 13th from 4:30pm-6:30pm, come join us as we host an outdoors party on the new Public Lawn at Assembly Row (by the PKL courts).

    We're celebrating another successful Bay State Bike Month & MassCommute Bicycle Challenge with MassBike & MassCommute. This is our opportunity to thank you, the riders, acknowledge the generous contributions from our sponsors, and congratulate the MassCommute Bicycle Challenge Winners and bring out the luck of the draw with raffle prizes from Kryptonite, Bern Helmets, and more.

    We'll have food provided by The Smoke Shop BBQ and Night Shift Brewing is offering to donate $2 for every drink, so you can grab a brew and support MassBike!

    Bike valet will be provided, so make sure to bike on down – we've got you covered.
