Ride for Food: Off the Beaten Path

Learn more about this event and register here.

We are replacing the traditional Ride for Food one-day event with a flexible ‘ride/run/hike on your own’ option. You choose to complete your preferred activity at your pace and on whichever day you choose between now and October 4th. Due to Covid-19, the number of individuals and families who need our support has increased three-fold and we need your help! Registration is $25 and there are no fundraising minimums, however we still hope that you will set your own personal goal and use your best efforts to reach it. Our goal is $600,000 for hunger-relief and we're 1/3 towards the goal.

10th Annual Will Bike 4 Food - Virtual Wheels for Healthy Meals

Will Bike 4 Food is a cycling event to provide emergency food assistance to our neighbors facing huger by raising funds for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Now in its 10th year, this event has brought together thousands of dedicated community members and businesses to pedal towards a hunger-free future. During this time of increased need due to layoffs, rising grocery costs, and other challenges brought on by COVID-19, we need your support now more than ever.

This year's event is more accessible than ever. Set a goal that is challenging for you, then ride wherever and however you want! We help you train to reach your goal with virtual fitness classes and workshops. You help us by asking your friends, family, and co-workers to contribute to your personalized fundraising page.

The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts believes that everyone has a right to healthy food regardless of their circumstances.

Serving Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties, The Food Bank is the leader of the region’s emergency food network, distributing nutritious food to households with lower incomes. Since 1982, they have been providing individuals facing hunger with the food they need to survive and leading communities towards long-term solutions to food insecurity by addressing its underlying causes. They are committed to creating a western Massachusetts where no one goes hungry and everyone has access to nutritious food.

Harbor to the Bay Ride 18

Please register for this event here, and be sure to check for COVID updates.

Have you always wanted to do a long-distance ride, but never thought you could make it? Well, so have many of the Harbor to the Bay participants! Until joining Harbor to the Bay, many of our participants had never ridden more than 10 miles. However, as we cross the finish line, you’ll be elated by your personal accomplishments as well as the impact on your community!

What makes Harbor to the Bay different? The Harbor to the Bay Ride is not a race! Instead, it’s a ride where dedicated people who want to support people living with HIV and AIDS can make a difference. Your actions and 100% of every dollar you raise will benefit your community.

    All Out Adventures Virtual Challenge

    Choose Your Challenge!

    September 13 - September 27

What do we mean by "Choose Your Challenge?"  Pick an adventure that is a challenge for YOU.  That could be a 1-mile trek on your local accessible trail, a short kayak trip around your local cove, a 10 mile run, a 25 mile bike ride, or a long point to point kayak trip. If it's outdoors, and it's meaningful to you, it counts!

Pre-registration by September 10 is required, and reservations for equipment (see below for supported options) will be on a first-come, first-served basis after you've registered. Registration includes an event t-shirt (register by September 5 to guarantee your choice of size) that can be picked up at our office or mailed to you.  You will have the option to create a fundraising page to help All Out Adventures raise the critical funds we need to sustain our programs through the COVID related public health emergency.

    In-person Supported Options, September 13 and 20

(Options are subject to change based on COVID-related regulations that may affect permits as well as state and local level guidance on group size. Also, please note that people opting for an in-person option will need to be fully independent, either on their own or with the assistance of a caregiver. Our staff can not provide hands-on support with transfers, balance, etc.):

    Option 1:  Cycling in Northampton (9m - 5pm)

Equipment available by reservation for up to 3 hours, first-come, first-served: Borrow one of our adaptive cycles to take a ride on the local bike paths. Option 2:  Explore the Summit of Mt. Greylock (2pm - 7:30pm)

Drive up the auto road (or hike up one of the many trails) of the highest peak in Massachusetts. Take in the breathtaking view from the summit and explore the trails and historic Bascom Lodge. Sunset is at 7:05pm. This option is pending permit approval.

Tour de Streets 2020 - LivableStreets Alliance

This year is LivableStreets’ 15th birthday! We’d love to be celebrating with you at our biggest party of the year, Tour de Streets, but that’s not what 2020 has in store for us.

Tour de Streets is still happening; it’s just going to take place in your home, your backyard, and -- most importantly -- on your streets.

To celebrate our 15th anniversary, we are launching a 15-day Tour Your Streets Campaign. This will be an opportunity to celebrate LivableStreets’ accomplishments over the last 15 years, and to ensure we have the resources to fund the next 15 years of LivableStreets advocacy.

On each day of our 15-day campaign, we’ll be sharing new ways that you can participate and #TourYourStreets. Share your participation with us on social media to build community and connection even while we're apart! This campaign begins on September 15th and runs through September 30th -- stay tuned for more details.

This is a fundraiser too, so we ask that you join the event by making a personally meaningful donation, and encourage others in your community to donate and join the fun. Anyone can participate, but those who donate or fundraise will be eligible for additional activities and prizes.

Join us on Sept. 15th at 6pm for our Kickoff event -- and open house with LivableStreets Staff! RSVP here:

    Great River Ride Challenge

    For registration, please see here

While this is a free event we do suggest a donation to the Friends of the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail (FOCGRT).

The Great River Ride 108 mile Challenge starts and finishes in Westfield at the city's Half Mile Falls Park on North Elm St. Parking is free on weekends but limited to 3 hours on weekdays.

The Westfield River, the Great River in the river ride, is a federally designated Wild and Scenic River. The GRR wanders the course of this scenic river to give you a unique cycling experience.

You will encounter knee-popping hills, breathtaking views, awesome descents, and gorgeous fall foliage as you tour the hilltowns of the Eastern Berkshires. Add in miles of stone walls, waterfalls, plenty of New England white churches, loads of colonial homes, historic keystone arches, a wild and scenic river, and did I mention hills.
Country stores along the route have limited operating hours during the Covid-19 Pandemic, so be sure to carry food and water for your challenge.
