The Somerville Bike Kitchen is hosting our 2nd Bike Pageant. The first occurred in 2019 and was a great success. This time around we will also have our friend for "A trike called funk" providing music to get the party started!
What is a bike pageant? Officially, it's an event to show off your bikes and compete for prizes in different categories. (e.g. vintage bike, cargo bike, commuter bike, fixed gear, etc). In practice, it's an excuse to get together and geek out on bikes and meet new people!
Did you just build something you're really proud of? Did you just find a really weird and funky bike? Do you just love your bike and want to show it off?
Bring your favorite bike and enter it in the pageant - or just come by and check out some cool bikes! There will be food and prizes!
Timing for the event is below:
noon-1 |
register your bike (it’s free!) |
1-3pm |
A Trike Called Funk, voting, prizes, milling around |
3-5pm |
more milling around |
The Somerville Bike Kitchen is a not-for-profit Bike Repair Space in Davis Square, Somerville. We have open shops 2x / week (Tues/Thurs 6-9pm) during which our volunteers help folks to fix their own bikes using our tools. We are not a bike shop and volunteers will not fix your bike - we will help you to learn to fix your own bike! Find us on instagram (@somervillebikekitchen)!
